The 2025 model year of the fourth-generation Silverado 1500 focuses on refinement, delivering thoughtful updates while maintaining the impressive capability and value that drivers expect. The half-ton pickup truck stays competitive against some of its nearest rivals, such as the Ram 1500 and Ford F-150, by being available across multiple trims and configurations for a wide range of different drivers. You can get the 2025 Chevy Silverado 1500 in four different powertrain formats and in nine different trim formats.
The trims include the WT, Custom, Custom Trail Boss, LT, LT Trail Boss, RST, LTZ, High Country, and ZR2. When it comes to updates for the 2025 model year, the WT now comes standard with cruise control, while a trailer brake controller is now included with the LT and every trim above it. The Silverado 1500 ZR2 now comes standard with parking sensors and a Bose premium audio system. For those interested in customizing their Silverado 1500 with something more visually captivating, there are new 20-inch high-gloss black wheels available as an option.
Another change for the model year has been the inclusion of two new colors: Cypress Gray and Riptide Blue, both of which are premium color options for the 2025 Silverado 1500. This brings the total color count to eight for the model year. The other colors include Summit White, Red Hot, Black, and Sterling Gray Metallic. There are also two additional premium colors in the form of Radiant Red Tintcoat and Iridescent Pearl Tricoat.

Four powertrains and two drivetrain configurations give the 2025 Silverado 1500 a lot of options when it comes to performance output. Whether you're interested in a rear-wheel drive truck that's great for towing or a four-wheel drive configuration that makes for efficient hauling and off-roading, the Silverado 1500 has the performance capabilities and engine packages to sate your needs. The base engine is a very refined and responsive 2.7L TurboMax. This turbocharged four-cylinder provides you with an impressive 310 hp and 430 lb-ft of torque while being attached to an eight-speed automatic transmission. It makes for a solid option for daily drivers as it provides you with reliable capabilities and good estimated fuel economy, getting 18 MPG in the city and 21 MPG on the highway.
For exceptional fuel economy, there is the Duramax turbo-diesel. The 3.0L inline-six gives you good range and performance in equal measure. Paired with a 10-speed automatic transmission and producing 305 hp and 495 lb-ft of torque, the Duramax can achieve an estimated 23 MPG in the city and 29 MPG on the highway.
The other options include two variations of the EcoTec3 V8. The first is a 5.3L V8 that makes 355 hp and 383 lb-ft of torque. It can manage an estimated 16 MPG in the city and 21 MPG on the highway. The second is a 6.2L V8 that provides truck drivers with 420 hp and 460 lb-ft of torque, making it quite the powerhouse on the road.
The fuel economy of the 6.2L V8 tops out at an estimated 15 MPG in the city and 20 MPG on the highway since the engine is only available in four-wheel drive. However, the 10-speed automatic transmission enables smooth shifting for the truck and offers multiple drive modes, including a Tow/Haul Mode to reduce shift cycling and improve cooling when towing or hauling.
Optional packages like the performance air intake system can provide you with better performance, especially when traveling off-road. Additionally, with the ZR2, you have skidplates for undercarriage protection.
